Weekly Rites # 9 Benny Nduwayo
Mixing Contemporary dance influenced moves with Hip Hop is hard. In this clip that is what I was trying to do. I don't know if I succeeded.
Weekly Rites # 10 Benny Nduwayo
This is my favorite weekly rite because of the way it came out. I appear almost like a shadow and that makes my movements look cool. It is important to note that it was not my intention for the video to come out like this.
Weekly Rites # 8 Benny Nduwayo
In this Weekly Rite I was attempting to try new moves out once again. However, this time the music is different. Instead of African and Dance Hall, It is Rhythm and Blues.
Weekly Rites # 7 Benny Nduwayo
My attempt in this clip was to project sad emotions. Emotions of a sad man's narrative. A sad man who has lost someone he loves and wants them back.
The moves that I was coming up with were actually good, at least to my eyes. I was very impressed of how good of a freestyle dancer I'm becoming.
Its always good to reconnect with my African dance culture. As i was dancing, I was at the same time attempting to choreograph the chorus of the song. As you can see, during the chorus, I always do the same dance moves.
When I did this weekly rite video, My goal was to attempt doing Hip Hop dancing. I tried my best to keep moving and trying to to discover new moves that I have never done before.
What I Like about this third weekly rite is the fact, I got to walk around Academic campus for 20 minutes while filming just the steps of my feet. I had a great experience.
It was interesting how I was able to create such smooth movements on the spot. I'm also impressed with the idea of nature that was included in the video.
