WEBVTT 00:00.500 --> 00:04.000 In this short video, we'll be demonstrating the process of 00:04.000 --> 00:08.000 connecting and disconnecting a microphone to a Shure Mic Pack, 00:08.000 --> 00:10.500 available in some classrooms on campus. 00:11.500 --> 00:14.500 It's critical to take care when following this process. 00:14.500 --> 00:21.000 Destruction of microphones and mic packs is expensive and disrupts anyone else who would use a classrooms mic system. 00:21.500 --> 00:28.500 To connect a microphone to the Shure Mic pack, first examine the pins in the mic pack, checking that they are straight. 00:28.500 --> 00:34.500 With the black button facing toward the front of the Mic Pack, press it straight into the slot. 00:34.500 --> 00:41.000 Do not twist as you insert the microphone into the slot, as this will damage the mic pack and microphone. 00:41.000 --> 00:45.000 You should hear a clicking noise when the microphone is properly seated. 00:49.500 --> 00:54.000 To disconnect the microphone from the Shure Mic pack, firmly grasp the mic pack. 00:54.000 --> 00:58.500 Then, press and hold the black button at the base of the microphone cable. 00:59.000 --> 01:02.000 Pull the microphone straight out of the slot. 01:02.500 --> 01:07.000 Do not twist the cable, as this will damage the mic pack and microphone. 01:07.500 --> 01:12.000 The microphone base should disconnect from the mic pack with minimal effort. 01:12.000 --> 01:18.500 If you are having difficulty removing the microphone, please double check that you are fully depressing the black button. 01:19.000 --> 01:26.500 If you discover a microphone or mic pack that is not in working order, please report this to the UVM Tech Team. 01:26.500 --> 01:31.000 You can find the Tech Team's contact information at uvm.edu.
